Redang Island , Terengganu




Terengganu has a strategic geographical location. Terengganu is well known for its islands and lakes. The combined natural beauty of its islands and lakes make Terengganu a scenic state.


Among the popular islands are Pulau Redang, Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Kapas. All these islands provide lovely diving spots for tourists to explore the underwater world. To get closer to nature, tourists would need to go no farther than Tasik Kenyir, which is Malaysia’s largest lake.
Terengganu has a total of seven districts. They are Besut, Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Kemaman, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Setiu. Majority of the people in this state depends on farming and fishing for their livelihood.


Fishing is Terengganu’s main economic activity. However, with the discovery of petroleum, the oil and gas industry has become a significant contributor to the state’s economy. The government of Terengganu has also identified several areas to be developed as industrial zones. This helps to ensure diversity in the state’s economy
